"I hate," he said last week, after about a shot. "I hate it because it is very difficult. With the philosophy of [coach Tom Thibodeau's], he lets me change a lot of positions and was kind of rough, because the shoe is so great that it has so much space in front, so you really do not know where I my track, or when I get my steps in equilibrium, it is sometimes rough. The task is difficult because the tape is still painful. learn how to move [] injuries. "
It was his motto, he won in the league. After the game in all 82 regular season games last year, Gibson did just two this season, despite many questions.
"I am a team player," he said. "I am for my teammates. I'm there to show that there are no excuses. No matter what I do I try to be present. It will take much to keep me out of the game. My dream is to play in the NBA. will use every minute to take every day. "
This is the kind of attitude that has come to know Thibodeau USC alum appreciate.
"He was great," said Thibodeau. "He played well in the beginning when he started and I think that the correction does not pass, [as] he injury, and goes on the bench, but I think I thought he played very impressive. Man can not ask for anything more. His energy is very large. His defense is off the charts. And I think even more comfortable offensively. Guys are stolen yet, but does not show him when he plays. The game hard every night, and we must. "
Gibson has a simple philosophy when it comes to dealing with all the pain.
"When one day at a time," he said. "Go to medical treatment on weekends, get a massage. I just watched much TV, listening to music, veterans life, what they do. I've even seen old clips of football Michael Strahan. He said that the lift, not many but a few. Receive, receive any treatment . I see what Kurt [Thomas] is. [is] taking a day to get inside the elevator did that consistently [and] a healthy diet.
No matter what he does, and no matter what to expect damage to Gibson, to take everything into consideration. He can not help but chuckle when it comes to all the bumps and bruises he had to overcome it.
"Even if you taped me and gave me a size 18 shoe I said, 'Are you kidding? I wear a 15 ½. What do I do with [size] 18 shoes? "He said." It's not football, where they stand now. I have to chase people around and run and jump. But I have been adopted, and for the last few games it was OK. "
